SwordBible is a free program for reading, studying and comparing different versions and translations of the Holy Bible. It has a very attractive interface, full of color, which makes the reading and searching of Bible texts more easy and enjoyable. Included with the program, you will find the International Standard Version of the Scriptures, with its corresponding index at the left side of the interface. You can go easily to any chapter of the Bible by simply clicking on the name of the book at the index. This will display a list with all the chapters of that book. To display any chapter, you can simply click on its number. If you are a Bible scholar or enjoy comparing different versions of the Scriptures, you can download up to eight Bible versions which you can compare one to another. Among them are the King James version, the Conservative version, the Jubilee 2000 version, and so on. When using the Comparing feature, the verse's number will appear in red, and by clicking on the Compare tab, you will see the different versions of the verse, according to the Bibles you are comparing. The Parallel feature lets you display two versions of the Bible at the same time along parallel boxes on a table, which makes comparison more convenient.
Also, you can download complementary texts, like Devotionals and Biblical dictionaries, which would enhance your reading experience. This program is highly recommendable for clerics, scholars and laypersons interested in taking advantage of the wisdom of the Good Book. |
